Urgent Help - Updated: Problem Solved.

I'm having a Springfield TRP shipped to Ricks Anetelope Pawn Shop. This is the non railed version with the "P" at the end of the SKU number.

They informed me right now over the phone that this pistol is NOT legal in California.

I told them to call the DOJ because I know that the P does not make the gun not legal and it simply stands for the package goodies it ships with.

    Am I wrong?

If they send the damn gun back I'm going to be furious. They are on the phone with the DOJ now. Waiting on the return phone call.

have them send it to a shop that does sse. but on the 'p' part the doj will say that it is a whole new gun entirely and sa has to submit one for safety qualifications to make it on the roster

I was told the "P" stands for "package". The firearm did not change when the holster and mag holder were added, making what Springfield called a "package" now.
A good rifle build isn't cheap, but a bad one can be expensive!

My house; like the White House, is NOT a gun free zone!

Can they take it out of the box, then it will miraculously be CA DOJ approved TRP.
and sell you the gun and Package separately ?
The chair is against the wall...

Haha. That cheered me up. Still waiting for them to call me back. I guess it takes 45 minutes to talk to the DOJ.......

All Springfield pistols are labeled with the "P" for package on the SKU, it is not possible to not buy them that way. All Springfields SKU models listed on the DOJ roster have a "P" after them. Go look at any springfield box in any gun store. They all have the P. But no "P" on the roster.....I really wish the DOJ would pull their collective heads out....

The responsibity falls more on your local FFL......They will know if it's transferable, or if it needs to be SSE.

Well this is the last time I'll do business with an FFL I've never worked with before. Their cheap transfer price hooked me in. Ultimately, I should have checked with them first, I just didn't think it was going to be an issue since I've seen the gun at numerous gun stores.

So it was the receiving FFL that told you that?

The receiving FFL is convinced that it is NOT on the roster. I already have 3 other local FFL's telling me it IS on the roster.

Ok so the receiving FFL is still waiting to hear back from the DOJ. However, I have called 3 local FFL's that consider the pistol ON the roster.

If it's a no go from the receiving FFL they are willing to ship it free of charge to the FFL of my choice.
