    Turner's sale

Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for a handgun and have been debating on the M&P 45 and the XD 45. I saw today on Turner's Outdoorsman ad that they had Sig Sauer West German police trade in guns of the P225/P6 9MM with 2 8 round mags in "very good condition" on sale for $299. Is this a deal I should jump on, or is it nothing to write home about and go with one of the previous 2 I was thinking about?

It's an awesome handgun. I'd get one, but I'm trying to get into rifles and have an OLL that's begging for an upper.

Most definitely jump on it. They already sold about 30 today and the sale doesn't begin until tomorrow!

I knew I should have gone in today to see if they would give me the sale price a day early.

Who would want to buy a Sig? They are so boring, precision machined, tight tolerance guns. When I hold it up to a light, nothing shines through to the other slide. When I pull the slide back, no creaking from the recoil spring. Stupid German engineering. A West German Sig P225/P6 older than me still has tight tolerances! What baloney is that?

SIG P225s used to be priced at a premium before the surplus P6s came in. P225s were a "cult" gun, a compact, single stack SIG joy of goodness.

The opportunity to buy a SIG that's carried a lot, shot a little for only $300?

                  THAT IS A STEAL.

Yup, and you have to pay shipping on that and transfer fees ($30-125, depending on your FFL) and DROS. You're looking at at least $325 and more likely $350-400 by the time you are done.

OTD at Turners is around $355, so it is pretty much the same price and you don't have to deal with finding a transfer dealer and making sure the FFL is on file with AIM.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

You also don't have to worry about transit time.
