  • SB 489 chamber loaded/disconnect technical question

OK so we all know about SB 489 and we all know it sucks. Heck it's practically the SB-23 of the handgun universe. I'm somewhat confused about the current list being grandfathered in though...

Does the grandfather clause mean that current guns on the list CAN be renewed without features? Or will a Glock 17 or Sig P226 have to have the features to get back on the list when the entry expires?

Basically I'm asking: is it time to start maxing out my credit cards and buying a handgun every month in anticipation of them all becomming banned?

My Understanding of SB489 is that as long as the manufacturer continues to pay the extort....uh renewal fee the gun can be sold without SB489 features.

Right; so long as it stays on the list, it can be sold in the configuration it had when it was added. Paying the baksheesh is how it stays on the list.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
