Sig MK25 "CA Special" Trigger Problem

Just got a "CA Special" MK25 w/ all the "great" safety fixings. Took it to the range and started going through my first box of ammo and loving every minute of my new pistol.

When I was nearing the 100 rnd mark, all of a sudden the trigger started sticking back and not cycling forward or resetting for firing the next round. The pistol cycled the next round into the chamber (that stupid chamber indicator staring me in the face) but the trigger was locked back, almost frozen in place.

Clearing the weapon out and trying again: got the same problem. Shoots 1 round and 1 round only. Was using tula ammo but them switched to brass cased ammo and still the same problem all of a sudden. Don't know if this is a single problem w/ mine or if the new CA features have something to do with it. The trigger had the same feel locked up as when the magazine disconnect is working.

Guess I'll have to call Sig tomorrow; but was curious if anyone else is having problems similar to this w/ their MK25, any Sig in general? I have a pre CA-compliant 226 w/ no problems. Personally, I just want to blame the mag disconnect SO BAD on this one! I'm unhappy it's this unreliable out of the box. I want these "features" out!

Good thing you have the CA version since Sig is taking a page from HK and practicing "we are Sig and hate you!"

Best of luck tomorrow with Sig CS

Where are you at? And honestly, i'll blame the mag disconnect with you. That was the first thing that came to mind. Could possibly be a spring issue.
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

First time I've had a problem with a firearm. Sig CS is the first step right? I know I can't return it like a bag of chips at Safeway.

Mr.1904, do you know of a Sig Armorer in the SF Bay Area that could make all this go away?

Take off the right grip and check to see of the trigger bar spring isn't broke. There was a bad batch of springs a few months ago.

Yes, contact Sig CS. Either one of your springs is out of spec or the mag disconnect is mucking up the works.

Give them a call during normal hours. They will send you a Fedex shipping label via email. Box your Sig up (no ammo!) and send it to them. Follow the rules on shipping the gun precisely: (link)

Make sure they send you a label as it costs like $100 to ship a handgun.

I don't know of any real Sig armorers in this area, and pretty much nobody but Sig knows how their mag disconnect works as they are not even selling the parts for it yet. Bruce Gray probably knows how it works, but outside of him I doubt the rank-and-file armors are trained on it.

If you just want to do a detail strip and compare the parts to a known-working gun I could help you there... If it is not the mag disconnect then the parts are generally easy to buy...

However, given this is a brand new gun, I do recommend sending it to Sig. The little springs are $10 each with $10 shipping. Warranty work is free.

Well, at least I can get it back if I send it in.

Interested to know what the issue is. As I was going to pick up one of these in the near future. Let us know how it went with the cs.

Don't jinx it. It will one day fall off roster and your now fancy shmancy CA compliant weapon will not be so compliant because of the missing micro stamp. LOL

Seriously, you should be okay with SIG customer support.

So it will fall off roster next week when I have to FedEx it. No big deal. Not like these things are expensive or anything.

Don't forget to ask for some free grips. They hooked me up with some e2 grips when I had a problem with my p226.

Sig CS: It does what? That shouldn't happen. We'll have that checked out. I'll email you a FedEx label.

That was the most painless customer service call EVER. Thanks to SIG!

Thanks for everybody's input on the matter as well.
