    Broken pin

    This is the locking block pin from my gen 3 Glock 34. Built as an open gun, with a kkm match grade barrel with 4 port comp. Typically shoot 4.7 of win 231 with a 124gr. This pin is 3500-3700 rnds old.

            Indeed. I've never seen one break like that. Normally the tip wears down to nothing before anything breaks.

              Now part of the break it period. I jest, no a side note is that pin after market or maybe it was just inferior craftsmanship not dissing glock I've had a few and beat them to heck. Still have my g22

                Wow. That happened after 3-4K? Hopefully this didn't knock you out of commission for a while, OP. Perhaps it's not a bad idea to invest in extra pins/parts kit for "just in case."

                    It happens, seen it happen with a 17 and a 22 over the years. Not common, but it happens.

                      Ohhhhhh thats the locking block pin, I speed read through and thought it was the firing pin. My bad. Still, thats not a common problem.

                        Considering where the pin broke and that you load your own ammo, my guess is that you may have had an overloaded round with resulting very high pressures. The barrel tried to move the locking block backwards to the point it snapped the pin in two. Any other damage to the gun? Perhaps the magazine automatically dropped out of the pistol due to a mini-kaboom?

                          Damn man, I had to change out the locking block pin around 45K on my 17. It was just bent not snapped like yours.
