S&W Airweight ID

I'm trying to ID a revolver... it's an Airwieght CTG 38 special, 6 round cylinder. As far as I can tell it's a model 12 (G-date code) K-frame alloy/steel cylinder. It has Airweight and CTG stamped on the barrel.

I don't have much to go on since there's no model number on it, but the Airweight and CTG with a 6-round capacity seems to indicate model 12. Can anybody confirm this?

Open the cylinder, model should be visible. K frame airweight 38 special could be a Mod. 12.

Could be a pre mod. 12 if there is no model shown. Those are .38 M&P Airweights.

I don't have the gun here right now.... been going back and forth with a guy over the phone today. I'm just trying to figure some things out before I head down there (about 30 miles south).... I want to be ready in case it needs to come home with me. I don't want to go to the bank and get cash and then drive down there unless I have a pretty good idea of what it is. He said there's no model number on the frame... just a G19X433 inside the frame where the cylinder rests.

Is that the model that was issued to airforce pilots in the 60's?

That serial number defys SCSW and Google-fu searching. Do you know what the cylinder latch release looks like, or possibly any other details like the hammer or trigger type? Pictures would speak a thousand words here... how many screws?

Man... I wish I had more info.... just going off what the guy told me over the phone. I want to get down and look at it this week; I'll bring my camera and snap some pics. Problem is that if the price seems reasonable it may come home with me before I can take pics anyway.....
