    Glock 20 Gen 4

Well I finally tracked down a gun I have been searching for almost a year. I just ordered a Glock 20 Gen 4 on Grabagun. I have been searching long and hard for one of these and I am happy that I got it in time before anyone else snatched it up. Now just got to wait to start my SSE transfer when it comes in.

This one comes with 3 ten round mags vs 3 15 round mags. I am actually pretty happy about that because I would much rather have 3 ten rounders that I can use. I can always get a rebuild kit or two.

So any recommendations out there for ammo? I will be reloading soon, but for now I was going to find some stock ammo. This will be a bit of a sidearm to defend from pigs while working out on a ranch.

PS: They still had one more left in stock if anyone was looking for one. Their price is the best I have seen on the net.

Congratulations! I looked for almost a year before I got mine, but it was definitely worth the wait.

As far as ammo goes, Underwood is king if you can find it. Buffalo Bore makes quality ammo too, but it's extremely expensive. Stay away from Double Tap. Remington UMC, although watered down, is still pretty fun to shoot. I load all my own now, and my favorite powder for all bullet weights is Longshot.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I do plan to do the reloads, but I just was trying to track something down for the meantime. Do any upgrades to yours?

Direct Action Solutions in San Diego has a few in stock right now. Sucks that you had to wait a year.

I just picked up a Gen3 20 SF myself. I tell you it is a beast of a Glock! Reloading is the way to go. I just picked up some Dillon 10/40 dies and some Nosler 200grain hollow points. You should look into a 6" barrel if you think to use it on piggies.

            All you need to know.

When you get to loading, Starline brass.

Yeah getting the brass will be rough. I know Starline is the way to go, finding it seems to be as hard as it has been finding the Glock itself.

The only modification I made was installing Sevigny sights (I have them on all my Glocks), everything else is perfect for me. I've owned 8 GEN 3's & 6 GEN 4 's, and the best Glock trigger I have ever felt is a stock GEN 4 G20/21 trigger. I even tried a $225 Vanek Classic Grand Master Trigger kit with a Jager Ultra lite Striker, and I still think the feel of the GEN 4 G20/21 trigger is the best. The only other thing I did was get more mags, although I may slightly undercut the trigger guard as I've done with all my GEN 4 9's.

Great find. I'd love to shoot one of those some day.

Yes, everything is more challenging component wise right now. I just noticed Starline is back ordered until mid July on 10mm. I have always found them pretty good at meeting or beating their dates.

As drab_81 mentioned, Longshot is a good choice for powder. Others are VV-N105, Blue Dot and 800x. Ironically, I have found many of the above powders some of the easiest to find in stock lately. I like Precision Delta for practice bullets and XTP for SD loads. Precision Delta is like 18 weeks back ordered. Yikes.

                    Good luck.

Lets see how Grab a Gun handles your order. I ordered a Para 1911 that was on roster and in stock. After 10 days of not shipping it, even though they acknowledged receiving my FFL's info (day 1), and even though it still showed "in stock" on the site on day 10.... I cancelled my order. I e-mailed them on that day 10 to find out wtf, and they said that there was an error with stock on hand, and that my target ship date was 7 days after that.. "Target" ship date? Read lots of reviews, evidently GAG has issues shipping with just about everyone This was one month ago..

OP, thanks for the tip. I had a Gen4 G20 on order for a few weeks, but just jumped on the last one in-stock at Grabagun. Not concerned about the 10-rounders, I've got plenty of regular cap mags for it already.

mt...sorry you had troubles with GaG. I've ordered a few firearms and many accessories from them without a hitch. Hopefully my experience will stay positive!!!

I have a gen 3 SF. How does gen 4 differ?
                            Thanks.
