    XD-9 Trigger Kit

I'm looking to upgrade the trigger on my stock XD-9 Service model.

Which trigger kit is best considering reliability between PRP, Springer, SA Custom shop or any other kits? Anyone have experience with the upgraded triggers?

Love my PRP. Started with the drop-in kit but ended up upgrading most all of it's parts to custom fit ones.

Powder river drop in kit was easy to put in and a very effective upgrade. 1000+ rounds without problem.

I also have the PRP drop-in kit. It was so nice on my XDM9 that I got it for my XD45 too. 1000s of rounds through XDM, couple hundred through XD45, perfectly reliable and great feel. Would never go back to factory trigger.

I had the PRP Ultimate Match Target trigger in an old XDM that I owned, and it was definitely a nice piece of kit. Break and reset was extremely crisp and positive, and that's coming from a 1911 guy.

I installed the Powder River ultimate match in my XD. I have to say that it was a big PITA. Lots of sanding and polishing, assembling and disassembling. I'm happy with the finished product, but I wouldn't do it again.

I know that for the most part you only have two options: PRP or Springer.

While I have an XD, I don't have experience with either. But I really like how the Springer kit utilizes a new and machined trigger bar to replace the factory bar which lots consider to be one of the weak links in the gun.

I had Springfield Armory Custom Shop install their match trigger. It is awesome and my factory warranty is intact. It's cost was on par with the PVP kit if I factored my time for installation.
Sending the gun back was a simple Fed-Ex transaction and was sent back directly to me. Turn around time was approximately 2 weeks.
It took some getting used to...there is no "slack" or take up. Place finger on trigger, dis-engage the trigger safety and you're up against the sear. Exactly 4.1 pounds of pressure and it's firing. Note it came from SA with a 2.1# trigger, I replaced the match spring for the factory trigger spring to get the 4 pounds.
Like the PVP the reset is very short and positive. And IMO it's as close to a 1911 trigger as a pivoting trigger can get.
Good to read the positive comments about PVP. I may get one for my XDM40 5.25, just for a comparasion.

It took me about 45mins to install the prp ultimate match trigger kit in my xd45 and it's 10000x's better than the factory crap trigger!

If your scared to use a file and sand paper spend the $$$ and have it done somewhere.
