I will be one as soon as I can peel one away from a friend of mine. 2nd gen Colt in .45 Colt, 5.5" barrel and the blue is gorgeous. Just have to save some moolah then I can join the fun.

I just drove by Tabors (San Bruno) today, he's got a number of new SA Rugers and Colts on the consignment shelf at what seemed reasonable prices (I'm a S&W guy, so not tuned in to these - but they appeared reasonable). Might be worth a stop by if you're in the area, just FYI. Frank is a Cowboy Action shooter, he's all up on the SA love in his shop.

(the power was out when I got there, so it was hard to see condition of anything sorry - I think a pole got knocked down somewhere close by, Frank didn't rightly know)

I've got a couple of 44's I really like them. Rugers, a vaquaro and a blackhawk. I've got a win '94 in the same caliber. I've got a colt clone in .357 but I need to make a new firingpin for it. I like the fact that they are ready...pull back the hammer and you're ready...no slide racking. I take a little off the Kieth load... 240 gr SWC over19gr 2400 . fairly pleasant to shoot. I got 'em cause I thought I might like to shoot with the cowboys...but they put speed limits on bullets and my guns didn't really like going that slow. I've got some 3f so maybe I'll try that for fun.

I'm a fan. The Colt SAA in particular is *the* quintessential chunk of lore about the American West.

I'll echo Rivviepop's comments about Frank Tabor -- he is enthusiastic about a lot of gun-related things -- but CAS seems to be what he digs the most.

I'm looking towards snagging a USFA SAA clone sometime this year. They're on sale now and I am having a hard time resisting....

My current rig is a Beretta Stampede (artillery length) in Nickel -- great gun. It's no USFA or Colt but it does put the bullets where I point the gun...

This is my Ruger New Vaquero .357, stainless bead blasted with race job, shoots real nice and goes with the Rossi Trapper same finish and also tuned.

In past years I've owned a Colt black powder frame .45 made in the 1880s, a Colt Bisley in .38 made in 1902, a 2nd generation nickel finish in .357, and a Colt SAA Nevada commemorative .45. Now all I have is a Cimmeron SAA clone in .45 with the 5.5" barrel, a Ruger blackhawk pre warning .45/.45 acp 4 5/8" barrel, Ruger super blackhawk 5.5" .44, Ruger SSM 6.5" barrel in .32 HR, and a Ruger Old Army cap and ball.

Do you get the feeling I like single actions?

Having grown up in the era of Westerns, I'm a big single action fan. On my first cross country trip, I had a Ruger .45 Convertible Blackhawk with me and after 32 years, I still have it. Along with a couple of Colt SAAs, New Vaqueros, and more Blackhawks, it seems that my single actions outnumber any other type of pistol I now own. The only trouble is that I can shoot my M&P 45, 1911s, and DA revolvers much better than I can now shoot my SA revolvers. Which makes shooting those "modern" guns a little more enjoyable than shooting the SAs. Probably has something to do with my fading eyesight and the fixed sights and longer lock-time on the traditional SAs...and lack of practice with the SAs.

I just recently joined the club with a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum
