    Ruger p95 double feed

I have a new Ruger P95 that wants to double stack on occasion from either magazines. Anyone have that problem? Is it the way I load the mags, or could they be the problem. Used UMC and Winchester white box ammo. Didn't seem to make any difference.

Our P95 was picky about ammo and misbehaved until it was broken in. Keeping it clean and well lubed help. Problems diminished around 1000 rounds and it really likes my reloads of 5grn universal under 115gr rn. Stays clean longer and last trip to the range it started acting up after we fed it 400 rounds (it normally was only fed a couple hundered rounds). We were so used to not having problems that I didn't have cleaning/lubing equipment with us. A dry wipe with my shirt and we were back to shooting the last of the 500 rounds we had with us.

Summary - Needs broken in, cleaned and well lubed.

Benefit - Wife got really good with identifying and clearing different 'failures' and returning to shooting the 'bad guy'.

Check the tension on the extractor. You can take the slide off and take the barrel out. Slide an empty 9mm case up under the extractor. You should be able to shake the slide pretty good and the case shouldn't fall out. If the extractor needs more tension it is pretty easy to do. Take a small screw driver and push the extractor claw outward while sliding extractor forward until it comes out of the slide. You can bend the extractor slightly for more tension then reinstall it.

Had problems with mine in the beginning. As time went on the problems went away. Up to over 2 thousand rounds and I almost have no problems ever.
