    Not really secure though....
Wow. That doesn't look like a very good design at all. Kind of useless to put the lock on the side.

      Let's put it this way.

If you can get to it from the drivers seat or get in with out a key. Your a no go.

If its not accesable with out leaving the front seat and you can't get in or around it with out a key your golden.

You can have a pistol on the front passenger seat, but it must be in a locked container. Has nothing to do with whether or not you're sitting in the drivers seat or not.

I was told if its accessible via the driver it's a no go, reason the glove box isn't acceptable.

The law has been in place longer than internet bill docs; easily-accessible author's comments are not available.

So, while that may have been the motivation, it's hard to be sure at this distance in time.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Well I my self will play it safe and keep it out of reach of the driver. Aka my self it might not be right but its not wrong either.

Yeah, either put a lock on both sides, or just put a single lock through the handle (which is opposite the hinge and will prevent that problem). Of course, the single lock must not allow the case to open (except a very small amount), otherwise you could still remove the firearm.
