difference between Kahr K40 & P40 ?

Hi guys
I'm trying to get P40 or K40
but couldn't decide because don't know the difference
what is the difference besides polymer frame
like recoil, weight, value, pro & con etc...

Weight

To me the primary difference between these two guns is weight, and the effect that has on shooting and carrying comfort. The K40 weighs 26 ounces empty, and the P40 weighs 19 ounces empty, a 7 ounce difference. This makes the K40 easier to shoot well and rapidly because the weight helps with recoil, but makes the P40 easier to carry. So I guess you have to decide which is more important to you, shooting or carrying.

I believe the physical dimensions of the two are similar, as are the appearance. I don't think price varies enough to matter. Here is the K9 (identical appearance to K40), which is the one I would pick. I'd carry it IWB and wouldn't mind the 26 ounce weight in that mode.

I have a P40 and it's very light weight and very slim. for large hands you might not like it but it does make it alot easier to carry.

I have a K40. It has a ported barrell and night sights with four mags. I like it a lot but rarely shoot it. I've been thinking of selling if your interested let me know. I live in San DIego. The gun is very clean with few rounds fired through it. It also had an action job done on it by Teddy Jacobson at "Actions by T". AFAIK weight is the only difference.

I've got a K40 Elite '03 that is a sweet little carry gun. I carry IWB and have never had any issues with it. Sometimes I wish it was a little bit lighter, but if I had the P40, I'd probably think the same thing about it.

I like the stainless for ease of care. I don't like that the frame on my K40 gets rust spots on it and I have to clean, scrub and oil it very frequently to keep them from coming back, even when it is stainless. The slide seems to be fine with no care but the frame seems to be inferior stainless...
