    Glock 23 conversion 45acp

So I was looking at a glock 30 and I was also thinking I would ALSO like one of these in a slightly longer barrel. To the best of my knowledge they dont make a compact, just a full size and a sub compact.

So that got me thinking about conversions. Which led me to do a search here and with no results I thought Id ask... is it possible to convert a glock 23 to 45acp? I figured the 9mm version would be too small in the slide area for a bigger barrel but .40? now thats a maybe.

    Anyone know?

No, you can have a 9mm or 357 sig conversion barrel for g23

I believe you can only go down a caliber,
But you can get a glock in 10mm and have a
    45acp barrel,

So if I understand you correctly youre saying the best bet for this conversion would be a G38 right?

The overall length of the .45ACP catridge is too long for it to fit in the magazine/grip of a Glock 19/23/25/32/38. Which makes it near impossible to convert a Glock 19/23/25/32/38 to .45ACP, unless you are trying to make a custom single-shot breech loaded pistol.

        Basically...
Glock 19 = Need to change the slide, barrel & extractor to convert to .357SIG, .40S&W or .45GAP
Glock 23 = Just need a barrel swap to convert to .357SIG. Need a conversion barrel to convert to 9x19mm. Need change the slide, barrel & extractor to convert to .45GAP
Glock 25 = Need to change the slide, barrel & extractor to convert to 9x19mm, .357SIG, .40S&W or .45GAP
Glock 23 = Just need a barrel swap to convert to .40S&W. Need a conversion barrel to convert to 9x19mm. Need change the slide, barrel & extractor to convert to .45GAP
Glock 38 = Need conversion barrel & change the extractor to convert to 9x19mm, .357SIG or .40S&W.

Use Glock 19 magazine for 9x19mm conversions.
Use Glock 23 or 32 magazine for .357SIG or .40S&W conversions.
Use Glock 38 magazine for .45GAP conversions.

The Glock 29/30 being a "subcompact" is a marketing thing.

When Glock first released the Glock 29/30, they were marketed as "compacts".

When Glock released the Glock 36, they changed the marketing so that the Glock 29/30 are "subcompacts" and the Glock 36 is a slimline "subcompact".

If you ignore the marketing and compare them physically, the Glock 29/30/36 is closer to the compact sized Glock 19/23/25/32/38 than the subcompact sized Glock 26/27/28/33/39.

Wow! Good call bro! Ive never been able to handle them next to eachother so I was naver able to realize that the 30 sits right between the 19/23 and the 26/27 size wise! That seems as close to what I want as I would ever get! Thank you.
