I just got a Ruger SR 1911 went to Jackson arms to break it in and they will only sell me one bag of 50 bullets I had a box of 50 with me and so I shot a 100 rounds threw it. I asked for another box and they said do to the ammo shortage I can only get 1 bag. So I was done for the day a new gun but no ammo so I bout two boxes of home defense ammo for 32.00 each for 20 rounds that's insane. so today I call big 5 to see if they have any 45 ammo and they have one box left so I hall *** to big 5 and get there in 10 minutes and a guy at the counter buys the box. what are the odds. this ammo thing is crazy dam Obama. even online 45 is hard to find. This is bumming me out. I want to shoot but cant get ammo. this ruger sr 1911 is amazing shot 1 inch groups at 10 yrds right out of the box. so I guess I just had to vent my frustration. No I have to go back to my ship for 6 weeks hopefully while iam there I can buy some ammo online for when I get back and have some fun at the range.

I just purchased 500 rds of .45 auto from LAX for $240. Is it cheap? No. Can I go to the range and shoot to my heart's content? Yes. It comes down to how important it is to you.

.45 acp ammo is easy to find online at reasonable prices, you just have to look and maybe have a little bit of luck.

Yeah this ammo situation is frustrating, try finding .22 lr ammo! We are all in the same boat.

Im in San Francisco and have a case i think lying around of .45acp. All range ammo, some brass some steel casings. Sold my 45acp 1911 months ago and have been lazy about selling the ammo.

Id rather have money for my upcoming trip to Thailand, than a case of ammo i may or may not shoot for years.

Welcome to the fight. Doesn't matter what calibers you shoot, it is all hard to get. Components for some calibers seem to be non-existant!
