    Mini 1911

I posted a pic of my Browning 1911 .22 LR the other day and I rcvd some argument on the caliber and size. So here it is one of my prized jewels in my collection. They are relatively hard to find and one hell of a cool gun. Complete 85% replica all the way down to the breakdown. This is the smaller barrel of the two models they produced..Rosewood grips..

I almost bought one a year or so ago, but I couldn't get passed the price tag. Kinda regret it now. Looks like a fun little gun.
          Sorry, not sorry.

They are expensive for a 22, but they shoot very well and can be fun for the entire family. And they are just plain cool. I'm a 1911 fan, so it was a no brainer.

I am also a 1911 fan and these little Browning's are very cool! Some people do not like the smallish size, but I believe that Browning nailed it! I have the standard A1 model (4 1/4" barrel) and love this little pistol!

Great pic by the way. Where did you get the grips?

They are making the new ones with the Rosewood grips. You can probably get them straight from Browning.

Congrats OP! I seriously considered it as I like 1911's as well. And I like the GI look of this handgun. And of course, it has the Browning name. It has a lot of things going for it.

I would have gotten it if not for the hammer bite I got when I racked the slide. And from research, it seems like it is not uncommon to get one depending on the shooter's hand, etc. I didn't want to compromise my grip just to shoot a nice, cool handgun. I wanted one as an understudy for my .45ACP 1911's. It it were only slightly bigger, my hand would have had the clearance I needed. Bummer.

So I instead decided to get a Sig Sauer 1911-22. Just put one in jail yesterday. It doesn't have the looks of the Browning and the takedown is different from a standard 1911. That was the compromise I was willing to do.

Have fun with your Browning. I'm kinda jelly it doesn't fit my hands.

And for those of you looking for one, Guns Direct in Burbank has one for $599.

I know a girl who has one of those browning 1911 22lr. The grips are plastic. The mags sell for at least $45! But it's very reliable! She let me shoot 100 22lr rounds thru it (50 cci mini mags, and 50 federal) and I never got any ftf's or fte's thru it. She told me when she first got it, it had a couple ftf's first 100 rounds but she says its broken in now.

I believe she paid $550 came in a cardboard box and only 1 mag. At first I thought it was pricey, but since it was so reliable I say its worth it. Especially if you have small hands. (Way too uncomfortable for me, my 22lr pistol is a tec 22 pistol, now that's a big 22lr)

The slide bite (if you receive one) is only 85% The smallish size is not right for everyone.

Seriously, I love this little pistol. I have a little over 1,400 rounds through it and the only failure I've ever had, was ammo related. I think I got lucky, as mine loves the Federal bulk. My wife shoots it and one day, the kids. Until then, it always tags along on range trips.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check with Browning.

Yep, the hammer bite I got was a bit smaller

I would have seriously gotten this Browning if it weren't that small. This one's not for me I guess

I looked one over at my LGS and was impressed by the quality and attention to detail Browning put into them. They are wonderful little .22s
