    Lone Wolf Barrels..

I've been told that it's against the rules to own a threaded barrel.
Lone Wolf sells 'em...are they legal...anybody have one on their Glock? Or on anything?
    Are you posting from jail?

You can own the threaded barrel, it's just illegal to have it installed on the firearm in California. The exception is a permanently attached thread protector - which makes field stripping impossible on most pistols.

Apparently this is in reply to this thread:

Neither Merc or I told you it was illegal to order or own.
But install a threaded barrel on a pistol in CA that does not have a fixed magazine (or have the threads covered) and you have an illegal AW.

If you install a threaded barrel on your pistol such as the one you mentioned without your magazine being fixed or having a thread protector/muzzle device welded and pinned to the barrel you have created an Assault Weapon in CA.

If you have any pistols with threaded barrels installed on them and they do not have fixed magazines (or have the threads covered) I suggest you removed them ASAP!

Might want to look at this

(4)A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:

(A)A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.

      (B)A second handgrip.

(C)A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.

(D)The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.

(5)A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.

Sorry. I misunderstood. I see little reason to own one if it can't be legally installed on a pistol. Seems strange that an item can be ordered and owned, but if used...will land you in federal prison.
The GSG M1911-22, imported by American Tactical Imports has a threaded barrel...illegal?
        Oh well...

Gun laws in California don't make sense!? That's just crazy talk.

            Not federal prison.
It is a California state law.
Move out of CA and its probably legal (depending on the state)

As already explained to you it can be used in CA under 2 conditions
            Have a fixed magazine
            OR
Weld and pin a thread protector/device over the threads (But then for most pistols the barrel can not be removed from the frame)

The GSG M1911-22 sold in CA have a thread protector pinned and welded over the threads.
