Single Shot for M&P Shield 9mm

Anyone know who will do a single shot exemption for a Shield 9mm in Southern California. And how much?

I know O.C. Armory does, but it's a little far for me, not impossible, but farther than I usually travel.

Edit: On a side note, what do you guys think of a sub-compact 9mm? Any other models I should consider? It would be for CCW outside of CA. Others I was thinking about were Khar PM9, Walther PPS??? Glock 26 is a little too thick for me. Thanks again.

Xds 9mm. You should take a look at those. They are available if your dealer can get them.

Just got one, got it by SSE here in NorCal. I'm using it for CCW. I put 200 rounds through it yesterday.

I have Sig, Colt, Ruger and Dan Wesson pistols in multiple calibers. This is my first Smith and Wesson. I also had the opportunity to shoot a XDs .45 before I made my choice.

I've got my eyes set on the beretta nano.
It's very slim and has a great price point.
Maybe I'm just biased to Berettas? I know the Glock is too thick for me, too.

I thought there was a Cali Compliant Shield in 9mm it was just the .40 that was not available?

They have a CA compliant version but I don't want anything that is CA approved. No LCI with huge red flags and large letterings and magazine disconnect

I was interested in the 9mm CA compliant shield, but S&W pushed the availability out to "Fall 2013". So we went shopping and opted for the HK P2000SK. I'm very impressed with the build quality, the accuracy, and feel. I think the trigger pull is longer than I like. A bit pricey, but very nice.

For the record, though, this is not MY primary shooter as I prefer my Baer.
