    Chrome plating in SoCal

Is there a place in SoCal that does quality chrome plating for handguns? I don't want to ship my gun out of state for that purpose.

Check out www.gotammo.com. They do engraving, maybe they do plating as well, or at least know who does.

You mean hard chrome? Just pay the 50-60 bucks at a UPS shipping center, and send it to Virgil Tripp (Tripp Research), Cogan, or one of the other well known refinishers who does hard chrome.

Hrm... well, Tripp Research might offer a grey Kobra-Coat. Also, check out Mac's Shootin' Irons...

Check with Dave's Metal Works in Covina. He's a great gunsmith and a nice guy to do business with.I don't know where he sends his guns out for hard chroming , but the finish is really nice.

Techplate has a good reputation and is used by several well respected smiths in socal.

I have seen their work and I thought it looked good, but I don't know how much prep work they do and how much they want done before they get the parts. All the guns I have seen them do were sent to them by local smiths, not the gun's owners.

I have never used them as I don't have any chromed firearms
