1911 with .22LR Conversion Kit

I run a Ceiner 22lr Conversion on my Springfield 1911A1 Enhanced. At first I was having failures to feed so I replaced the hammer spring with the next weight down from standard from Wolff and it has been trouble free since. The Ceiner magazines are milled from aluminum stock and pricey, but have found the plastic Kimber magazines work perfectly with the Ceiner upper. For the most part I shoot Remington bulk 22lr and have no issues other than the occasional round with no primer in the rim… Oh, this combo is very accurate at about 1” at 10 yards.

Does anyone know of any ranges in So Cal that have a 1911 with .22LR conversion kit installed?

I have an alloy frame with a Kimber conversion as a dedicated 22 pistol. It's my ideal 22 pistol. I owned all the popular 22 pistols over the years and this one I enjoy the most.

I don't have a need for 22 pistols that don't mimic one of my centerfire pistols. i view them as toys. The strongest arguement I hear is a dedicated pistol is cheaper...yes it is. the reliability areguememt only applies to cheap conversion kits.

I owned 3 kimber comversion kits, sold 1 , but all three were very reliable and accurate.

The recoil spring in the Kimber has a front and a back. If yours isn't working then switch the spring around.

I also have 1 Sig kit for my 226 and 1 Kadet kit for my CZ's. The CZ kit on any one of my CZ's has been the most reliable 22 pistol I ever owned, and I owned them all at one time.

If you love the 1911, then I recommend getting a good quality conversion kit.
