Ruger MK2 pistols are pretty popular but I heard maintenance is a pain.

It is unless you know what you're doing.

These Ruger MkII pistols are my favorites regardless the model or configuration.

Favorite 22. For the handgun thread it will be as in order
S&W 34-1, 4" blue
Browning Buckmark

Reason why I put the S&W revolver first is because it is so much easier and handier to shoot, not to mention it doesn't rely on any magazines to get fed.
Accuracy wise the single chamber of the auto pistol wins.

Now as my favorite 22lr:
Remington 521T-JS - This is the sweetest, most accurate bolt action RF gun I ever had. Every serious rifleman should have a bolt action 22.

Ruger 10/22 - all day fun for less than $20
S&W 34-1 - explained
Browning Buckmark - Although this one gets all the nicks and bruises, it still rates high in my overall list of favorite guns. If a gun wasn't my favorite it wouldn't be in my safe.

Right now my Remington Nylon 66 in Mohawk Brown Just got it at BrightSpot Pawn in 98% Condition...Fun Gun!

My Ruger MKII is by far my favorite .22 pistol. Once you get the reassembly down it makes the 1911 look hard.

My favorite is my old Ruger single six, but the target 10/22 is alot of fun when you want to reach out and touch something!

Large loop Henry carbine .22. The most fun gun I have (at least this week), fit and finish are excellent, super smooth lever action right out of the box. 100% made in the USA and reasonable price to boot.

Ruger 22/45 mark II. THe mark III is a PITA to put back together and its worth waiting till you find a mark II instead used.

My wife liked mine so much I had to buy another one just to be able to shoot!

I've been enjoying my Ruger Bearcat quite a bit more than I expected. It's edging out my S&W 617 by a sliver, but perhaps that's because it's a more recent acquisition. .22LR semi-autos are last on my list because of their ammo selectiveness.

It's hard to pick just one 22 to call my favorite.
It would be a toss up between my S&W Model 41 and my Ruger standard automatic.
The nod goes to the 41 though as it's just such a good shooter.
