    IE hand gun selection

Just curious to what folks have been seeing in the cases at say bass pro or turners. My daughter is turning 21 next month and wants me to buy her a hand gun. Something nice in a 9mm is what I'm thinking. Maybe a .40. I want her to pick it out. Problem is, once I take her to a gun store, the cat is out of the bean bag that she is getting a gun.

Any well stocked stores between north county San Diego and the IE.
    Thanks.

Turners, Bass Pro an Ammo Bros. combined will have a good selection. AB an BPS prices will be a bit high. Turners is lower so as a result, they have less of a selection.

There's do that little gun store on the backside of Ontario Mills. Can't remember their name but they had some too.

Don't forget Direct Action Solutions and Parallax. Your best bet is probably take her to a range, rent a few and see which she is most accurate with inherently. Do it soon so there is enough time to let her suspicion/expectation cool off.

Go with the 9 mm. Cheaper ammo and easier to shoot. Leave the 40 buying to her when she is more comfortable. BTW, The Sig P22x series have caliber x-change kits; makes going to different calibers a little more affordable.

Go to Iron Sights in Oceanside to rent anything she's interested, they have a pretty decent selection of rentals, and a fair amount of new guns for sale too. If she finds what she wants and they don't have it in stock, they can order it or you can call around instead of driving everywhere searching.

40mm? Where did you see a 40mm pistol? I've been searching for one but can't find the anywhere.

Typo. Was multi-tasking... eating and typing, hence the mm as in Mmmm good.
