hello there everybody, shooting a net call for some help. I am active duty military stationed in Germany all my firearms are registered at my mothers address here in the state where they stay. Im looking to purchase a handgun but all my paper that i could use to prove my proof of residence such as vehicle registration, utility bills, or military orders all put me in Germany. Does anybody know of anyway around this or some other form i could use so i can finally buy a handgun. Thanks!

Sounds like you are back on leave or something?
Have your mom write you out a lease to stay there, doesnt have to be for a year or anything just long enough for you to make your purchase. Some say it needs to be notarized some dont, I would just go get it done most banks have someone there that can do it. And of course your DL, I assume you still have that.Comment

His residence is in Germany, so according to the ATF he can't purchase firearms here. They consider your PCS orders establishing residence. The whole residency requirement infringes big time on your civil rights, especially in situations like this.Comment

I don't think that's the right answer. If you are active military, your ability to purchase firearms is limited to where your permanent duty station orders are.Comment
