This is what's on the roster (CA-approved) as far as Kimber Warrior:

I can't really tell from your description above which gun you are referring to. There are 3 types of Kimber Warrior pistols and the blued/black is the only one approved for sale in CA (non-SSE, non-exempt individuals).

    Good luck!

If I could find one, I'd get a Warrior. Wouldn't mind a TLE either.

It's pretty simple, there is the Warrior, Desert Warrior and Warrior SOC all not on the approved list. The Warrior II is the only one on the list, it has a firing pin safety. The three not on the list do not.

The original Warrior didn't have the 80's series safety that's why it's more desirable.

Never has there been any pistol company that people are so divided about. Anyway I am glad that you can get what you want.

Well to be honest people say the same thing about the M-16/AR-15 platform.... you think Kimber gets bad press? How many times have you heard people hating on them?

The Warrior on the list is the Warrior II which has the firing pin safety. On a side note, I recently sold my Kimber Warrior (which was a regular Warrior) to upgrade to another pistol. I did not like the finish. It looked nice and was very durable; however it was too slick. It was like a Teflon frying pan. Trying to rack the slide with sweaty hands was a lost cause. I did see the new Kimber Warrior and it looks real nice, but I'd rather keep my nuts.
