It has to be in single shot configuration when received by your CA FFL. So either the seller must do the conversion, or it has to be sent to a middleman FFL outside of CA to do the conversion first before being shipped to CA.

If the pistol is already in SSE form, just find an FFL who is willing to transfer it and you're g2g. Note that not all FFL's are willing to transfer SSE pistols.

If it is already in SSE configuration then it is exempt from the approved list. Just need to find a receiving FFL and you're good. Make sure you talk to the FFL cause many (most?) don't want to deal with SSE.

I believe he's asking if the seller can ship it to an ffl here without going to through a ffl on the sellers side.

That will depend on the FFL. Some will accept shipments from private parties, some only from FFL's. Call around.
