    Model 57 Value

I just saw a 6" S&W Model 57-1 at a local shop on consignment. This is the second one I've seen for sale in the past few months and I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing the last one(I've always wanted a .41 Mag).

This one is a little newer. It is a non-recessed non-pinned pre-lock model and has the orange front ramp sight. The blue is 65-75%(serious wear on the muzzle end of the barrel) with some minor scratches here and there. It's sporting a one piece rubber grip(maybe a Hogue?).

I want to make an offer on it since it seems to me it's priced a little high($560) for it's condition. I guess it's been at the shop for a while now as the salesman said the price has been dropped a couple of times already.

Any ballpark opinions on what it's worth?
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

I paid 400 for mine a few years ago. I would offer 450 and see what they counter with. I always ask what is the best you can do on this.

A lot of times I wont haggle if it is what I want.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking along the same lines, offering up $450 and seeing where it goes from there. I just didn't want to be out of line with my offer .
