I just looked at one of these new sig p238 at my local gun shop. It looks like a nice little gun does anyone have any experience with these as far as reliability and all that good stuff. I have a kahr p380 and its not reliable at all. so I'm looking into a p238.

sig sauer p238 reliability?
Tags: None -
Mentioned in this review (which I wrote, just so you know where these comments are coming from) as highly reliable. The owner of the range/shop says it does very very well in their rental cabinet. I know him on a personal level and trust the validity of his experience and comments 100%
I also have a friend who owns two of them and he has never had an issue. That said, he has no where near the amount of rounds through it as the rental versions do at the range I mention in that review. -
Here's the record on my P238 HDW (all stainless steel with rosewood grips):
Purchased it new, 207 rounds fired.
five failure to load.
thirteen failure to eject.
one stovepipe.
Sent it back to Sig Sauer for repair on their issued two day air shipping label.
Sig did the repair and test fired fifty rounds-all correct.
Received the P238 back from Sig in less than two weeks via two day air.
I fired one hundred rounds, the fifteenth round failed to eject-all others fired correct.
I will do another session with it in the next two weeks or so for further determination of it's reliability.Comment

I've put maybe 500 rds through mine, factory reloads, pmc, etc. Perfect reliability, great fun to shoot!Comment

I was just talking to someone yesterday who absolutely loved it. Seems like a solid alternative to the lcp, just not sure I want to spend the extra $$...Comment

What a cool gun. Unfortunately Sig isn't what they used to be.Comment

I have the SAS and after about 300 rounds, no problems at all. Very accurate for a short barreled gun as well. Currently rethinking my 3 CCW listed guns, and this one is pretty close to the top for a small gun. Getting ready to try out the P938 to see if the 9mm version has any problems...then it will just be a matter of caliber pref. since they are so close to the same size.
Buy the SIG with confidence!Comment

im definitely liking the feedback so far better feedback on the sig then when i posted about the kahr p380 that i got awhile back that i probably shouldnt have boughten do to the poor feedback about them and there known problems. not to get off subject about the sig but is there any other small pocket like the sig or kahr p380 that are recommended as far as reliability goes?Comment
