    Anyone like old Colts?

How about a real Colt 1911 made in 1918. This Colt has been handed down through the family. I get out to shoot it occasionally but lately I have regulated the old horse to the stables. When I have shot her, I can tell you she shoots just as well if not better than many of her newer brothers.

That's a beaut with some history to it I am sure. I'd try not to shoot it too much though.

You are lucky, Mac Attack. My dad made arrangements to give away his Colt service handguns from WWII after he died. Seem to remember he had a .45 1911 and revolver. Would shovel a serious amount of shinola to have them - great history.

I Just looked it up. That old warhorse, even with 60% finish remaining, is worth at least $1k. Keep it. The monetary value will never match the sentimental value of the gun. I don't know how many people I've talked to who have said they regret selling a hand-me-down gun from a parent or grandparent. Probably close to 90%.

Keep it. Keep it maintained and enjoy it periodically.

Thats awesome! I'll guarantee if its original finish and not refinshed at any time and has all original parts to the gun its worth ALOT more than $1k. Looks like a real nice 1911, very cool!

I love old Colts more than air. Nice piece of the American way there.
