Vickers handgun course Castro Valley Ca

We are learning a ton of good information and our shooting has dramatically improved from the morning to lunch break. He is a great instructor and I recommend taking his classes. I get a kick out of his shows, the way he's always pointing when he speaks. Lots of good info from that man. I hope to one day grab a pistol course too.

Now that the class is over and I am recovered it was great. You learn a ton and I highly recommend it to new shooters or for people that have not had professional instruction. I will be taking more class from vickers tactical next year when announced. I asked and he may hold a 1911 build class in California if there is enough interest.

Question, Did everyone in class have to shoot a specific caliber round or was it your choice?

He held a 1911 build class in so cal a couple years ago I would think you would buy like a ar stripped lower and if they want you to do a safe handling demo to use another firearm. You take whatever handgun you have to the class in the caliber you own. It is your choice. Most of the class uses 9 and 40 caliber Glocks.

Yes, it was an amazing class. I came out of it a better shooter, and knowing what I need to work on to get even better. Anyone who gets the opportunity and hesitates.... don't. It's well worth it.

I took his 1911 operators class this past weekend in Chino, otherwise known as his Glock appreciation class lol. I would have to concur with the OP he is a excellent instructor. Most of the drills were the same as what you guys did in Castro Valley but just geared toward the 1911 platform.

If you are interested im a 1911 build class you can contact him and he will let you know where to order your 1911 kit, tools suggested reading for that course.

His course description lists 800 rounds, and at least in the 1911 course we only shot about 300 rounds the first day maybe 50-100 second day. Second day was more of a detailed strip down and diagnoses of 1911's. LAV is not known for having high round counts during his classes. he says other instructors will have you shoot a 1000 rounds in a day because they don't have anything good to teach you so they keep you entertained with a lot of shooting.
