Import Marks on Guns.

I just wanted to know if it is legal to remove import stamps from a handgun or are they untouchable like the serial number?

Just asking because I have a Beretta cougar that was imported by PW Arms and bears their mark along with another stamp as well and I would like to have them removed from my gun, because I think it would look nicer without the extra marks.
