Sig SP2022 - Rust?

Hi all:

I've been looking for threads for this answer, and haven't found anything yet to answer one way or the other. Just stripped my new SP2022 for the first time and found what looked like rust at the end of the frame near the hammer.

I am attaching pictures for reference. Is this rust?

It's not rust. I have it on mine as well.

I think its the copper lubricant.

Now i have to look when get home. A little rust don't hurt.

Yup. It's some sort of copper goop.

is it goopy? I never really touched it I though those parts were copper or something which sounds like a stupid idea on my part.

went and pulled mine from the safe.. *whew!* lube still there
