What won't a Glock 29 shoot through on its first day to the range?

Well I now know that a chronograph is no problem, story below.

Just got my first Glock 29 the other day (had a 20 for a while) and wanted to get it out to see what the stock barrel could do. Now, it is a very nice handling firearm, fits my hands perfectly (large) and was pointing naturally all the way out to 100 yards.

I have a KKM 5.25" barrel on order and made up some rounds for it. 800x trickle charged into 9.0, 9.1, 9.3 and 9.6 lots. Have both 175gr Slivertips and 180gr Hardcast using Starline Brass and Winchester Primers.

What I know for a fact is that the 9.3gr 800x/175gr Silvertip round measured 1,213fps. That I know cause I looked down at the remote and saw that number.

What I don't know is how much velocity was lost by going to 9.1gr. This is mainly due to changing an FPS performance test shot into a penetration one.

If I was trying to hit the chrony on purpose I cold not have made a better shot. Right along the right lower side, taking out the boards and anything else that makes it more than a metal box.

Good news is, I now know that a chrony will not save something from these loads if they tried to use it as a barrier. Bad news is, I adding a new chrony to my shopping basket on Midway in order to replace my Pop's

What were you aiming at? The chrono? because that's what you hit.

I thought the longest g29 barrel was 4.6". So that is cool

I know your pain.. my chrono is currently at Competition Electronics getting "serviced". I am waiting for my repair bill. Glad they have a "50% max repair warranty policy".

I will get some pictures up tonight of the chronograph tonight. KKM currently has 5.25" barrels in stock and the next time they are running the G29's is in 3-4 weeks. Spoke to them on the phone about it and they would make a 6" if I wanted one. That is the max they can go to.

The goal is to get those 175gr Silvertips right above 1,300fps in the 5.25" barrel and/or go a bit higher and drive the 180gr hardcasts to 1,300fps+.

Do you shoot OVER The chrony, or through the triangular area? If you shoot over, how high over?

                  I want 200gr hard cast to hit 1350 in a 6" barrel!

We did not have the rods on at the time, shooting over, trying to get between 4" - 6" since it is a pistol.

When I shoot for chronograph, I am simply shooting into the backstop throught the center of the chrono. Sight alignment is throught the virtual center triangle target of the chrono speed measurement area. Have not shot a chrono yet with this approach.
