Congrats OP! Good luck finding ammo, too. Seems like they are starting to come back now.
I read about this gun in Guns & Ammo. Let us know how you like it.One Way to Post Pics ********** How to Submit an iTrader Rating That Counts ********** Brass for Sale

Congrats. Let me know how you find the trigger. Seemed gritty when I was dry firing at the store. The employee was *****ing about how bad the trigger is and handed it to me to try for myself.*********************
WTS:
1. PW 800+ Hydro Multispeed (just the hydraulic unit that also works with Spolar press)
2. PW 800B converted to 800C (12 gauge) with lots of accessories and upgrades
3. Hornady 366 (12 gauge)

I dry fired one recently and the trigger was great. Nice clean break. I was anticipating a real gritty trigger based off what I had read, but was pleasently surprised.Originally posted by Rainbow WarriorAwesome let's piss off the Germans, what could possibly go wrong.Originally posted by desertjoshWtf. The SR45 is one of just only a few "new model" semi-auto guns I have contemplated buying in more than 8 years, and I am not a big fan of previous Ruger semi-auto pistols (though I know they work great).
Another thread around here talks about how you are not supposed to dry-fire the Ruger SR9 and SR45.
I learned the following (summarized) from the link below, posted by SilverTauron: The SR series uses a magazine disconnect which acts as a secondary striker block. Dry firing it without the magazine damages the striker assembly, resulting in a gritty trigger pull. Many people will take the mag out for safety purposes before dry firing a pistol. If it's been dry fired many times over without the magazine in place, the trigger pull will suffer from a degraded striker moving in the channel.

OP congrats on your purchase.I'm jealous I have only 2 mags right now. If you don't mind me asking where and how much were the mags?
As for the trigger besides not dry firing it a through cleaning of the gun (remove striker and clean channel and striker also) and a little polishing in a couple of places makes for a nice trigger pull.Comment

Got the 2 extra mags from Ruger's own website. They are kinda pricey, $101 shipped, took about 2 weeks to get them.Comment

Well being the cheap sucker that I am I guess I'll have to keep looking around for a good price. Thanks for the reply.
