I am looking to purchase a shield 9mm by way of sse. Anyone know a Sacramento area shop that does this? From what I understand, Sacramento Firearms exchange does the .40 only. Thanks for any help !!

I think you can only do the .40 SSE I forgot the reason why but I looked into it few months ago.

Easy question, Wild Bills in Elk Grove. Ask to get on the wait list. My cousin got on the list a few weeks ago, they called him today. Be prepared to put $100 down. BTW I got mines from there too via SSE. 9mm for both of us

I'm just getting a .40 and transferring thru sac firearm for this exact reason. Just shoot the 180's and recoil shouldn't be too bad. 6+1 vs 7+1 I'd rather have the 9 but I can do this anytime.

Be prepared to shell out some bucks as they are not known to part with any of their SSE products on hand for a reasonable price. I bought a Sig Sauer P238 HDW (all stainless/rosewood grips) via SSE from them but it was just one of those things that I had to have and couldn't find it anywhere else. I chalked it up to them providing a special service that no one else could do. That was almost a year ago so the sticker shock has worn off.
Use this as a bench mark:
I purchased my off roster 9mm Shield three months ago from PRK in Visalia for just a little north of $550.00-that included SSE and DROS fees and tax.
I'm very pleased with it and felt I really got a fair shake on the deal. Lately it's been my every day carry in a Remora no-clip IWB holster.

When I bought mine a 1 1/2 months ago, $549.99 plus $50 SSE fee. Overall not bad for exactly what I want. I don't know the current price but I know the SSE fee is still the same. Just assume $599 to prevent sticker shock. In the end there are not may places around here that do them, so if you're trying to penny pinch you might want to chase down the CA approved version.

                    Try Tracy Rifle and Pistol.

Do you know if PRK is still doing single shot exemptions on the M&P 9mm Shield? My phone calls and emails to them are not answered and every time I drive by the shop in Visalia there is a long line out the door.

It's kind of a unique shop in that they don't even hand out or display business cards. I don't stop by there much anymore-no need to as I am budget poor and handgun rich at the moment but when I did last month on a weekday around 11:30 a.m. I stopped by to get a couple of assorted magazines, the crowds have thinned out to just three or four customers and for me a ten minute or less wait.
As far as I know they are still doing 9mm and 40cal (as I have seen them both in the store) and a whole lot of other SSE handguns. SSE is their specialty. E-mails are a waste of your time.

Man they are making a mint on us right now. Msrp is $449 so figure $200 of pure profit is pretty amazing. I can get a 40 for $460 on gunbroker + $37 tax + $25 ship + $75 dros including SSE at sac firearm. Total is $596. God the fees are ridiculous.

The shield 40's have dropped a lot in price on gunbroker in the past 2 weeks.

Tracy Rifle and Pistol has the barrel to do a 9mm Shield SSE. They don't have any in stock, so, for now you need to run one down yourself and have it shipped to TRAP.

I broke mine out of DROS purgatory tonight.
