How's the RIA compare to the rest in terms of functionality?

I have never had a problem with it. I have around 1000 rounds through it. It is great to shoot it first and then switch to one of the 45s. The lighter recoil on the RIA 9mm makes it easy to shoot. You would think so, but no. There are many variables between 1911s: grips, front strap checkering versus none, short trigger/ long trigger, curved trigger versus flat trigger, flat mainspring housing versus arched, sights, feel of the bump on the grip safety. I am sure there are more variables, but this should give you the idea that different 1911s can feel different in your hand when shooting.CZ 75D Compact, 75BD, 75B SA, 75B SP-01, 97BComment

RIA is great. I respect those who buy Kimber, Springfield, Sig 1911's, but they've always been too pricey for my taste. I've never been a 1911 enthusiast, so having one RIA Tactical is enough for me; I keep it just to round off my pistol collection.Comment

Thanks, but if I buy another 1911 any time soon, it will probably be a SA TRP. Not looking for one, but if I came across one and had money to spend, I would pick it up. After recently buying the Range Officer and the Les Baer 30 days apart, I am completely tapped out on gun money right now. Plus, I've been buying ammo so I can shoot all of those babies. Don't waste your money. With the TRP SA just took one of their regular pistols and slapped everything on it they could think of. It's kind of like a mall ninja'd AR15.
