    Sig 2022 With or without rail?

    I recently held and came to enjoy a sig 2022 9mm al my lacal gun shop.they had two models , one with a rail and one wothout, well take that back it was a swiss framed one with the sig type raill system...not sure what it is..of course i liked the one with the rail..but silly me waited and it sold .
    Is there any differences in the two models other than the rail..internaly or anything else..the one without was much cheaper..

    I have one with the picatinny rail Unless you're going to mount a light/laser the Swiss frame should be OK. You can find adapters if you really need to.

    "Rumor" has it Sig found a bunch of these frames and used them to assemble 2022's due to the recent buying frenzy.

    I think the Swiss frames look much cleaner. I'm not aware of any other differences.

    Here's a pic for everyone else.

      If you search the forum for past SigPro/SP2022 threads, you will find that there are a number of variations floating around apart from the rail:

      Internal or external extractor;
      Loaded chamber indicator/no LCI;
      Standard trigger/Short Reach trigger.

      Other forum members can probably think of others. Whether or not these are important depends on you the individual.

          If you just wait and watch, you will find a cheap one with the rail. "better to have and not need than need and not have"
          Every facet, every department of your mind is to be programmed by you.
          And unless you assume your rightful responsibility and begin to program your own mind, the world will program it for you.

            Mine is no LCI, internal extractor, standard trigger, and my decocker lever is different. Best I can figure is I have an older slide on a newer pic frame.

            I hear the term FrankenSig used a lot as many seem to be assembled from spare parts. At least the Swiss frame one carry a different PN so you you can tell the difference. The was a huge flap about Bud's Guns not showing the correct picture a short while ago.

            Still, mine shoots great

              I have never seen one without the rail, either. I didnt know sig even make one. If u can find one, get one. It cam be a collector's item and keep its value well.

                Once again. It *does* have a rail, it's just not a picatinny rail. It's the proprietary rail Sig used years ago. The older SP2340 (.40) and SP2009 (9mm) used them.

                While future "collectability" can't be predicted, there's really nothing "special" about them.
