Three generations of the Glock 26/27:
    • Gen 2.5 = no RTF on front of the grip
    • Gen 3 = RTF on entire grip
    • Gen 4 = RTF3 on entire grip, has reversible magazine release, has multiple backstraps and is marked "MBS" on right side of frame & "Gen4" on left side of slide.

The gen 4 glocks, will state Gen 4 on the slide for example if you are looking at a gen 4 glock 26 it will state "26 Gen 4"

Shop for a glock 27 as you can get a conversion barrel to go from .40 to 9mm

You get the best of both worlds.

They have different size case rims. Sounds unreliable.

Nope... Just as reliable as a G26.

It's reliable. I routinely swap barrels and pew pew pew ! Away with 9mm. Probably around 750 rounds this far with the conversion barrel, no issues.

A new friend of mine did exactly that. I was with him on the first trip to try out the conversion barrel. That thing was every bit as accurate with the conversion barrel and in the 200 or so rounds we shot it, typical Glock perfection.
His plan is to train and carry as a .40 and to pleasure shoot as a 9.
                    Cool deal!
