First Gunbroker out of state purchase.

After researching the prices for used Sig 226 X5 in Calguns and other forums I realized that for a minimum additional fee I could purchase a new one.
Placed a bid on a 226 X5 in 40 (already own several 9mm pistols) and to my surprise no one else bid on it! Seller was Big Deez Guns in AZ. Local FFL was Arts Pawn Shop in Whittier.
Communication through GB was great, BDG promptly answered several of my very apprehensive questions. I mailed the USPO money order via register mail. The 226 was shipped (free) USPS the same day the funds arrived.
Scott at Arts Pawn was very helpful. One meeting for him to email his FFL, another one to do the paperwork and finally a day to pick it up. No crowds to content at APS, I brought all the required paperwork and I was out in less than 15 minutes. He has made a few transfers for Calguns members and did not make me buy a lock (Sig had one)

As always we have to pay the sales tax (pay unto Caesar...)

My target received with the weapon, time to reload its favorite fodder.

Nice gun. I shot one and liked it a lot... Not sure I like the price tag though

    Congrats on your X5!

Good choice on the 40. It's way too big for a 9 imho.
Do I look like I'm ready for homework?

I bought my P226 CPO off Gunbroker. The entire process went smoothly and I love the gun. I think I bought mine from the same place you did in AZ.

First time buyer out of state. Apprehension would be an understatement LOL.
Learned something new, met individuals which made the transfer smooth. I will most likely do it again.

It's really not so bad when you have a cooperative seller who's not afraid of visiting an extra website for the sale. Nice choice. Going to give a .357 SIG barrel a tryout? They're great fun.

Munk, you a re reading my mind. Usually my concern is "new caliber=new conversion kit for the Dillon , bullets, powder, brass" for the 357 all I would need would be a barrel dies and cases as I already reload for 9mm and .40

Agreed - but it's now with tax, it's less appealing than before. Primarily for those 'can't find here' purchases.

edgerly779; I would prefer you call Scott at
                      (562) 696-7755. His rates were very reasonable.

My local FFL charged sales taxes on out of State purchase through Gunbroker.
But he did not charge sales tax for an in State purchase through Gunbroker.
                        I presume this is normal?

If so, it is cheaper to buy from an in State seller on GB ?!

I love Gunbroker, I think I've purchase 3 of my pistols on there. But yes, paying tax SUCKS.

I got my ruger bearcat from gunbroker. Everything went great. Did the ffl stuff with ebrworks. Very happy all around. Well except for the taxes and hassles and all that.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
