I just purchased three revolvers from a friend/former co-worker. We went to a local FFL and did the transfer. The shop stated right from the start and it is on the paperwork that they charge a $35 a day, per gun storage fee on any PPT transfer that is not picked up on the tenth day. I picked them up on the tenth day, so not an issue for me. The FFL said that they were getting lots of transfers where the buyer was not picking up the gun on the pick-up day, so he started collecting storage fees. My question is does it seem right to start the fee on the 11th day? The dros is good for thirty days, so why not collect after the 30th day? Any other shops do it that way?

I'm pretty sure they didn't advertise for the two customers walking in the door either. Maybe they should try and and sell them something like ammo, or accessories?
Storage fee is BS after the tenth day. I can see if its a week or so after the pick up day.Last edited by Nate; 05-03-2013, 3:44 PM.Comment

Don't like the policy, find another shop. There's a shop near me that charges $5.00 to store the firearm during the DROS period. I think it's BS, but it is what it is.War is when your Government tells you who the enemy is......
