I know this particular pistol model is not on the roster. Does anyone know if it is roster exempt under the Olympic Pistol exemption. Thanks for your input.

The 5.5" is still on the roster. I got mine 2 years ago at Reed's in Santa Clara.

The S&W Model 41 qualifies as an Olympic exemption from the "roster."

I would say No.
He is asking about the Performance Center 41 that was not even made until after the last was updated.
Would also have to fall under this I think.Title 11, Chapter 13.7. - Regulations for Olympic Pistol Exemptions
§995. Exemption of Olympic Pistols.
(4) Olympic pistol means a handgun that is all of the following:
(A) Is sanctioned for use in Olympic target shooting events by the International Olympic Committee.
(B) Is sanctioned for use in Olympic target shooting events by USA Shooting, or its successor.Comment

I think you are OK looking at the USAS and ISSF rules posted here.
Hope you can find a dealer who will work with you on this.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have contacted several FFL in my area and their answers were that this pistol model is not qualified under Olympic pistol exemption. It is sad that I have found one that is factory new from Gunbroker. I was ready to place a bid but I guess it is off then.Last edited by mctatical; 05-02-2013, 4:09 PM.Comment

Nothing prevents you from purchasing a standard Model 41 under the Olympic exemption rule and then ordering a railed 5 1/2" barrel direct from S&W. May have to spend a few more bucks yet, end result will be the same.NRA Life Benefactor Member

Consider entering the lion's den and call DOJ BOF in Sacramento and ask them about this. As the models on the list passed years ago are not current, and the Model 41 does pass for Olympic model, "The List" is rolling because of the USAS and ISSF rules - so current models should be good to go of earlier listed models. Worst case they say no. Best case they say yes and have the dealer you think will work with you call them and have BOF confirm on the phone it is OK.
Just a thought,
