    Which 1911 .22 Conversion?

So im about to pick up a Springfield 1911 SS (Px9151LP) and want a nice working .22 conversion for plinking. As we all know .45 ammo isnt cheap right now. Please give me your thoughts and recommendations and any kits to avoid. I would prefer a polished stainless slide to match the gun. The search didnt come up with much so maybe I didnt read back far enough.

I have an older Ciener conversion that I put on my Springfield GI 1911 and I like it alot. It really, really likes the Remington bulk ammo from Wal-mart. About the only gun I own that actually likes the stuff.

      Kimber Eclipse

I think for a polished stainless look, you'll need to go with Kimber. Although, I like the marvel. Of the magazines, ciener's work the best in the Ciener, Marvel or Kimber conversion units.

Marvel has a big advantage with accuracy...check their website for finishes.

        Kimber/Ciener are less money.

Tactical Solutions, the most reliable one I've seen. You can buy directly or get from Midway.

The Tactical Solutions conversion kit looks like a copy of the Marvel kit, but cost $100 more. Might as well get a Marvel kit.

It may look like it but they are totally different designs plus the Marvel slide is aluminum, Tactical's is steel. They also CNC thier own mags not stamp them like Marvel. My runs 100% with decent ammo, I don't know of many Marvels that do

I also have been using my Tac Solutions kit for about 2 months and I have to say I love the thing. It is pricey, but I feel worth it.

I like the Advantage Arms (Standard) Kit. The price is competitive to other conversion units and it's the only unit that I know of that has a last round slide hold open feature.
