Anyone own one? What are your thoughts? How do they stack up to Baers, etc? I am especially interested in the Lawman 4.0

I just purchased lawman 4.0 in 9MM. I have only shot it about 100 rounds. So far I am very happy with it. It is not a tight as My Baer. I will need to get it on paper on A good day to see what It can really do . -
i've had a sti trojan since 2009. never really had any major issues although i don't think they are at par to the basic baer ( premier II ) quality."I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine."

I would love specifics. How IS the fit and finish...is it smooth? Ho are the triggers? Accuracy, reliability, details"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben FranklinComment

Want? absolutely, but can't justify the price rationally at all. Same with the other up market 1911s. Basically paying for someone's high hourly wage to file and fit parts. Nice gun, just too expensive.Comment

Ooh, it's engraved with USPSA, does it come pre-classified as GM?Michael (EBR Works) just got one for himself...

Beg to differ. My PII Supertac w/ 1.5" 50 yd. guarantee is an absolute tack driver. Most people can't hold steady enough to tell. They justify the price difference on things like aesthetics. I like shooting at 100 yds., however, and at that distance, the differences are readily apparent.
I also own an STI Trojan in 9mm, and I would say the Baers I have seen and handled are a notch above, especially in slide-frame fit. It is, however, only a Trojan, which is roughly half the price of the Supertac. A more fair comparison would be an STI Target Master.Last edited by BamBam-31; 04-23-2013, 5:58 PM.sigpicComment

I have a STI Trojan in .45. It's super accurate, low recoil. Slide to frame fit is excellent and the slide rides the frame like butter. I dig the scalloped front strap and undercut trigger guard. No experience with Baer.**********************************************

I just did the SSE on an STI Lawman 4.0 in 9mm yesterday. I have to say, I was VERY impressed with the fit/finish/ and tightness of this pistol. I knew it would be good, but I did not imagine it would be this nice. I will post a very detailed review as soon as my ten days is up."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben FranklinComment
