Yes. Except he could have legally rebuilt his pre-ban 15 rounders to a 22 round mag tube. Just like rifle owners who rebuild their preban 20 rounders to 30 round mags by upgrading the 'box' to the larger size. Since both are considered high capacity, nothing changes.

I also recently added a +2 (plus 2) Floorplate to one of my preban Glock 17 mags. Also, I added a few Arrendono +5 extensions to some of my Glock 20, 15 round prebans. I see that your Glock mags are upgraded prebans as well.. with extensions for your competition.

Because these Airport Cops really don't know the law; they call someone else who also doesn't know any better. His mags were confiscated.

What he should have done is:

    1. Simple don't travel with them. Leave them home

    2. Take them apart and mail them to yourself.

    3. Take them apart and check them in your luggage, not carry on.

    4. Always have a reprint of the Mag WIKI with you. (don't know if that would have helped or not).

May the Bridges I burn light the way.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

I don't think that's going to work, a 15 for a 15, but not for something that didn't exist. Besides how do you really conceal a 22 round stick?

yes, those replaced my original first generation magazines that split out the backs, and not only that the extensions from the first gen mags did not work with full metal lined mags so I had to get new extensions as well.

                  IMO...
Because the .40S&W Glock 22 round magazine did not exist before 01-01-2000 and the OP said he owned them before the ban date, the LEO's "expert" figured the OP got them via a non-exempt method and told the LEO to confiscate them as nuisance items. [PC 32390]

                  Penal Code 32390
Except as provided in Article 2 (commencing with Section 32400) of this chapter and in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any large-capacity magazine is a nuisance and is subject to Section 18010.

                  Penal Code 18010
                  (a) The Attorney General, district attorney, or city attorney may bring an action to enjoin the manufacture of, importation of, keeping for sale of, offering or exposing for sale, giving, lending, or possession of, any item that constitutes a nuisance under any of the following provisions:
                  (20) Section 32390, relating to a large-capacity magazine.
                  (b) These weapons shall be subject to confiscation and summary destruction whenever found within the state.

                      Yeah
I think almost all of my original mags have split down the back, I have maybe 2 originals left from my 17, and they show the signs of splitting, you can see the line, all the rest are rebuilds

Yes, just what I said. But now I am curious to know what the issuing agency has to say about the incident report. CCW permit holders have a duty to report contact with the police within 5 business days, failure to do so can immediately revoke the permit. If the OP cares to comment, it would be interersting

Traveling in/out of CA with hi cap mags is just asking for it, period. Too many LEOs here who don't know the laws.

I don't even take my hi caps to public ranges, don't need the drama.
