    Dry Fire Magazine weights ???

is there any way to add weight to your Magazine to simulate dry firing.
really want to dry fire train with the wife in the house, want to get full weight
of a loaded magazine without the ammo. has any done this or know where to get, or made their own?
    Thanks in advance

    Magazine full of snap caps?

"Moms Demand Action" sounds less like a gun control group and more like the title of a porn flick from the mid-90s.

Load the mag up with the needed amount of snapcaps. They won't be quite as heavy as the actual thing, but it's the safest route.

I can't put snap caps because i don't want cycle and eject, gonna use a laser bullet in the chamber-- so no cycling snap caps.

If you reload , Make some dummy rounds- no primer no powder just brass and bullet. If you dont maybe enlist a friend who does or someone at the range.

Really? take spring and follower out of magazine, add desired amount of weight. there is no more follower to engage the slide lock and the gun is weighted properly.

I don't think there is a good way to do this and I do have a weighted magazine. The problem is in real scenarios, the weight of the magazine is reduced with each shot and that does not happen in dry firing.

But to answer your question, take the spring out of your mag, stuff a piece of foam or cloth up against the follower and fill the rest with coins or some other weight to the equivalent weight of the caliber ammo you would load, use more stuffing if it rattles, put the end plate back on.

As was mentioned, dummy rounds are best. Snap caps are WAY too light, and you'll have wasted money, because the weight difference is gigantic, even if you're shooting in a division limited to 10 rounds and using a small caliber.

I can't find the link right now, but they are sold commercially, IIRC it's Brownells, but they're out there, or at least they used to be...I bought some just a coupla years ago...

And the dummy rounds he speaks of are not to be confused with the plastic orange ones that Brownells sells. Those are lighter than snap caps.

Pull the baseplate off, and throw in fishing weights until you match the weight of a full mag?
