Colt mustang

Could someone tell me the difference between the mustang pocketlite 380 and the mk iv series 80, 380, that is on the slide.

It's been better than 20 years since I made the mistake of selling my Mustang and I could be wrong but if memory serves the original Mustang was an all steel pistol with a single action 1911 like trigger. About the time I sold mine Colt came out with a version with an aluminum frame and a different trigger.

I had a Govt model 380 that was all steel & the grip was longer than the mustang & the mag held more rounds.

Colt Mustang Plus II = SAO, 2.75" barrel, steel frame, 7+1 capacity
Colt Mustang Pocketlite = SAO, 2.75" barrel, aluminum frame, 6+1 capacity
Colt Pony = DAO, 2.75" barrel, steel frame, 6+1 capacity
Colt Pony Pocketlite = DAO, 2.75" barrel, aluminum frame, 6+1 capacity

I am looking at buying 93 colt mk iv 380 mustang, the box shows a 2 3/4" barrel goverment, but looks like (from pictures) it may have a longer clip, I had a 96. colt mustang pocketlite that was stolen, I am trying to replace it but don't want one with the longer clip.

My dad has had a Colt Government .380 since the late 80's. It's still my favorite handgun to shoot and it was always his favorite CCW gun.

Govt. Model .380 is the Cadillac of .380's in my opinion. Sitting in my pocket now as one of my CCW guns.
