    Sig Sauer P226 X5 comp.

I notice that this gun (SigSauer P226 X5) is California approved already but when I called and ask a local gun store they told me that it needed to be customize to a 1 shot gun instead of a semiauto before I can legally own one in California. Is that true? They also told me to customize it back to semi auto once I purchased it... will that still be legal then?

He's wrong. The model you ask about is specifically listed on the safe handgun roster:

    P226 X5 Comp. (Stainless) / Stainless Steel Pistol 5" .40 S&W 4/7/2014

    P226 X5 Comp. (Stainless) / Stainless Steel Pistol 5" 9mm 1/5/2014

Your FFL may be confused in regards to the X5 L1 which is not on the roster and would need to be SSE'd.

He's just likely confused as there are four X-5 models and only the X-5 Competition model is on the roster

saw a 40cal version at a LGS. Very nice gun, but a bit large for 9mm. I kinda wish I jumped on it.
Do I look like I'm ready for homework?

AAA I'm Vallejo had one last time I was there and Peninsula Guns and Tactical had two last time I was there.

AAA had a better price by at least $100.

              Great guns, I've got two.

That might be a different one. The one I saw there a month ago sold a week or less after I first saw it.

Ah, ok. I assumed it was the same one. I'll be there tomorrow night and will see if there's still one there. If I remember correctly, they are/were selling it for $1200-1300.

The only new handgun that I specifically recall was an M&P 9mm FS, but it was $649. They also had an M1A, which I haven't seen in a store in months. I'm sure they're all gone now as they managed to unload several LMT LM8 slicks at $6K each a week or two before. But, like I said, I'll be there tomorrow night to pick up a gun, so I'll report on anything cool that is currently in stock.

Try Iron Sights in Oceanside, they've had one there for a while.

There is one for sale in SD (Lemon Grove I think) in the 'For Sale' Forum here right now, been there for a few weeks.
