I noticed that some slides are listed as 1 piece while otheres are 2. The P6 is a two, is there any benifit in one over the other? Also is the p6 slide stainless?

Sig slides?
FOR SALE: XD45, 24/47 Yugo Mauser, AK RPD AES-10bTags: None -
One piece is milled stainless slides which are on current Sigs. They are cnc machined or milled out of one solid block piece of stainless steel. Two piece are stamped or folded steel with breechblock, internal slide parts etc, being separate pieces assembled together into the stamped slide itself. The stamped slides give a better balance and feel to the gun. Number one reason why so many admire the P225/P6, P228, old P226 and old P220's. They are however not as corrosion resistant as stainless. I own many Sigs in both stainless and stamped slides. I like them all. I love the feel of the stamped slides only because they are a bit lighter and balanced. But I love the sturdiness, strength, and corrosion resistance of stainless. IMO the weight difference between them are noticable, but minimal. -
I like the roll pins in the stamped slide Sigs. It makes the slides easier to detail strip for cleaning and maintainance. The current line has a one-time use solid pin thats a PITA to drive out.Comment

the one-piece slides, especially in p229 vs p228, are quite noticably heavier.Entreprise Arms - FFL 07 manufacturer of CA-Legal FAL type rifles in Baldwin Park, CA.
