Massive MASSIVE PROPS to the Filipino guy. He takes a piece of metal scrap from somewhere, traces the parts, and in 2 weeks or so, ends up with a gun. The Wilson Combat guys takes 5 seperate guys starting with a "kit" and they crank out a custom gun.
The guns he shows at the end are not pieces of junk.
Wow, I'm very impressed. As for Wilson Combat guys, I'm sure their gun is a better gun in the end, but again, 5 guys, each who assembles/fits/finishes one stage of the gun from a kit versus a guy who makes a 1911 from a piece of scrap in his garage.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

It's a prank! The Filipino guy did not produce the beautiful 1911 at the end!NRA Lifer

More props to the Filipino dude. That's impressive to take scrap metal and make a nice 1911.sigpicComment

I'm Filipino and I'm proud to see how folks back the Philippines can take scrap and turn them into guns. Their products aren't Wilson Combat quality but as long as the guns work!
And Rock Island Armory isn't some backyard company. Their 1911s have been praised over and over again. One has to remember, the much acclaimed STI series of 1911s... Parts are made in the Philippines and assembled in Texas.sigpic

So, you are saying there is no RIA factory, all of their guns are made in a back yard shop? If so, you know you are wrong?I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

I don't know why they'd be alienated either. It would give me a feeling that at least these guns were coming from a Gun Culture

I'm Filipino and I have several uncles in the Philippines who bought homemade 1911s. They all function properly but they are nowhere near as pretty as the ones that were shown at the end of that video. Those looked like factory guns and I highly doubt they were made from the same metal that he was patterning the snubnose from.Originally posted by G. It is not a matter of fact that RIA is being build that way. So, there's some malice on the OP's part but the video is interesting. Pinoy pride here
