First decent "score" st a gunshow

So of all the gumshows I have attended over the years I had yet to score what I thought was a serious deal until this weekend. I went to Ontario show expecting the same long ammo lines and high prices we've gotten used to these last few months, but as I was perusing the ammo prices before getting to line a guy walks up wearing a sign showing ammo for sale and pushing a cart. I ended up buying a bunch of Wolf .223 from him for $10/box which was $.30 less per round than the ammo sellers. Then I noticed his box of Wolf 9mm which wasn't priced. While everyone around was scrambling to buy up the rest of his .223 I quietly scored his 1000 rounds of 9mm for $150! You know times are tough when you are celebrating scoring Wolf for that price, but it made my weekend for sure!

    Anybody else score any deals?
I voted against Obama before it was cool.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I scored a deal by saving money and time by not going. Gun shows are a waste.

    Nice find though

Ya same here... I ve forced myself to give up on ammo for the next 4 months atleast. Everytime I walk into a Walmart, Big 5, Dicks..etc I go straight to the ammo isle and I m always disappointed.. All I ve ever seen has been the rare boxes of 12 gauge target loads.

Nice. I have yet to find anything worthy of a "score" at a gun show.

Every gun show I've been to reeks of surplus military rifles and moth balls. If I won a door prize of being able to pick out anything I wanted for free I'd still be leaving the way I always have... empty handed.

My mother in law bought 1000 RDS of 9 for $250 at the gun show in Santa maria back in February. Was supposed to be shipped to her in 4-6 weeks. Its now going on week 9 and still no ammo for her. Wish I had been there to talk her out of it.

She needed the ammo to go with the brand new Glock 17 she had just bought. She's hoping it eventually shows up so she can finally take it out to play.

It wasn't a vendor, it was just some guy pushing a hand cart and wearing a sign saying ammo for sale. He was selling everything cheaper than the ammo dealers so I bought all I could.

Is this a common practice nowadays at gun shows? I haven't stepped foot in one in over a decade.
