Anyone have experience with the Hi-Point C9?

So I recently figured out that I may need to adjust the feed lips on my magazines. Do you pull the lips out or in?

There is a guide on hipointfirearmforums.com that explains the process.

I've never had that problem since I dont and never will own a highpoint firearm. Saving up some more cash will get you a better quality gun.

As you may have figured out, saying anything (positive) about or asking for help with a Hi Point will get you a lot of blah, blah, blah responses.... I had two pages of (mostly) ribbing when I jailed one a week ago .

Dont let it discourage you..... Sorry cant help with the ?? cause mine doesnt come out of jail until 4/12...

Hi-Points are novelty guns at best. No way in hell I would ever take one in harms way or depend on it for home defense. They are not reliable and I personally have had issues with the two that I own. I keep them in the bottom of my safe so when someone comes over I can use it as a conversation piece.

ROFL....I have some good experience with a Hipoint C9. They will drive roofing and framing nails in about six or seven swings. They are also great for cracking walnuts. Zip tie twenty together and they will make a great small boat anchor.

Oh yeah....first rate paper weights too....

Gun Guy Radio, interviewed Hi-Point's distributor Chalres Brown last week. It gave me a little more respect for the company and the firearm.

Get a few more mags and weed out a couple that work well. Not worth it bending mag lips, as bending metal back and forth tends to weaken it.

From my understanding, mags are the weak points of Hi-Point pistols. Once you find a few that work well, you should be fine.

I bought one on a whim one time, wish I hadn't.

If you all weren't so limp wristed you wouldn't have all these problems.

                    Mine runs fine.

They're cheap, ugly, and once you get kinks worked out, they work well.

For the kind of help you need check here:

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

You have to pull the feed lips a little out wards. They also recommend polishing the feed ramp (Sanding the feed ramp) to help so the gun won't nose dive while firing. I just bought one and did both and no failures to feed yet. Ran only maybe 120 rounds through mine. Very accurate gun. I like it a lot.
