New pistol. The owner's manual says and customer service confirms, shooting reloads voids the warranty. Should this be a surprise? Should I shoot reloads anyway, what with the rising cost of ammo? What do the more experienced members than me think about that?

I have always shot reloads after about 100 to 200 factory rounds. That's to assure it shoots ok and doesnt need to go back right away. If you load hot reloads and it happens to blow up, then that's too bad for you. I had a 686 Smith blow up years ago on my reloads. My fault. Smith still sold me a new one at factory cost. I told them up front it was a reload and told them my reload data. It would be pretty hard for them to tell if it was a reload if you had a problem. This year will go down in history.... Don't want to offend anybody
